"We are incredibly grateful to the Reiter Family Foundation for this grant and their belief in Elevated Denver. Developing new ways to address entrenched social challenges requires partners, like the Reiter Family Foundation, who understand that innovative approaches must address challenges at the systemic level and involve those most impacted. Your support and funding allows us to move toward implementing a pilot of a Neighborhood Resource Hub that will provide support to Denver residents who are newly homeless, or on the cusp of it, at a time when they most need it. Together we will ensure that fewer residents become homeless or are able to stabilize more quickly."
-Johnna Flood, CEO, Elevated Denver
“Thanks to the generous grant provided, Education Through Music-Colorado has been able to bring equitable and sustainable music education to students in under-resourced schools. This support has empowered teachers, uplifted entire school communities, and given thousands of children access to the transformative power of music. With your investment, we are not only fostering creativity and confidence in students but also ensuring that music remains an essential part of their education for years to come.”
-Mallory Bernstein, Executive Director, Education Through Music Colorado
"When we received our daughter's diagnosis, we were told we live in a day where gene therapy is becoming a reality, but it's extremely expensive - a cost most families can't bear. The Reiter Family Foundation is helping us do the unthinkable and create a gene therapy treatment for Elly and other kids who suffer from this terrible disease. We are so grateful for their support and couldn't do this without them." -Michelle, Mom and Founder of Elly's Foundation
In February of 2024, Elly was diagnosed with a mutation leading to an early truncation in the IRF2BPL gene, known to cause a neurodevelopmental disease called NEDAMSS (Neurodevelopmental Disorder with Regression, Abnormal Movements, Loss of Speech, and Seizures). This is an ultra-rare condition with less than 150 diagnosed cases worldwide. There is currently no cure or readily available treatment for this disease, and resources for advancing research and medical efforts to find such treatments are limited.
“Contributions from the Reiter Foundation to Tall Tales Ranch have had a transformative impact on the individuals with developmental disabilities we support. With their generous contributions, we are able to expand our programming and create more inclusive and engaging community for individuals to work, live and thrive.”
- Laura McKenna, Executive Director, Tall Tales Ranch
“The Bart Appleton Scholarship means a lot to me. I was a first generation college graduate. My parents weren’t able to set aside funds for me to go to college. There were moments throughout my college years where I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to pay for school. I am very grateful for the Appleton family and the Reiter Family Foundation for their generosity through their personal hardship. I truly believe that this scholarship was the reason I was able to graduate.”
