Reiter Family Foundation Announces Grant Decisions from Fall 2024 Board Meeting

The Reiter Family Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of its latest grant cycle, following a Board meeting on September 1, 2024. The Foundation has awarded grants to four remarkable organizations, each addressing critical needs in education, health, and housing.

The selected grantees are:

  • Food for Thought Denver

  • Education Through Music Colorado

  • Elly’s Team

  • Elevated Denver

These grants reflect the Foundation’s continued commitment to tackling pressing social issues and empowering communities across Colorado and the country.

Food for Thought Denver will receive funding to help combat childhood hunger in the Denver metro area. This grant will provide meals for local students to take home over the weekend, ensuring that they and their families have access to nutritious food when school is not in session. The Foundation recognizes that food insecurity can have a direct impact on a child’s ability to learn and thrive, and this initiative will help alleviate some of those barriers.

Education Through Music Colorado will use its grant to provide essential funding for full-time music teachers in local school districts that have had to cut funding for arts programs. The foundation believes strongly in the power of the arts and of music education and are happy to help bring that to local schools with budgetary constraints.

Elly’s Team will utilize the grant to fund research, treatment development, and FDA approval for gene therapies aimed at improving the lives of children affected by NEDMASS, an ultra-rare neurodevelopmental disease. This grant will accelerate efforts to expand research into gene therapy breakthroughs, providing hope for a change in the disease’s devastating course for Elly and other children battling this condition.

Finally, Elevated Denver will receive funding to support the launch of its new Neighborhood Resource Hub initiative, which connects unhoused individuals and those on the brink of homelessness with crucial resources and advocacy. The Foundation believes that access to these services can help prevent homelessness and support individuals as they navigate the difficult transition into stable housing.

The next grant cycle deadline for the Reiter Family Foundation is February 1, 2024. The Foundation welcomes applications from organizations and initiatives that align with its funding priorities, which include education, environment, and housing.
